SUSTAINABILITY

Fur is by nature sustainable because it is a renewable natural material, which after the end of working life, becomes part of a natural cycle.

  • Fur in our collections comes from market leaders within all aspects of the fur trade, including animal welfare.

  • When working with natural fur, no piece is ever allowed to go to waste. Cuttings and trim left over are collected and repurposed.

We regard fur as being on par with other animalistic products that people us every day, such as beef, leather and wool. We do not oppose the legal use of such materials or products when animals are treated with the highest degree of respect, which they should always be.

Natural fur is a sustainable material. It’s both durable, renewable, but is also included in nature’s own ecosystem after use which is one of the reasons we work with fur. We believe manmade materials are a poor substitute, are not biodegradable and cause harm to our planet.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Fur is an organic material that will eventually expire. A fur garment can last for generations-up to 40 years if cared for properly. It can be reused and sewn to increase the lifetime of the fur. The most important part of fur care is storage and conditioning. 

Your fur should always be hung on a broad, sturdy padded hanger to keep from losing shape.

  • Fur needs air circulation to keep the hide from drying out and cracking. Avoid plastic garment bags and store/travel with a cotton or satin dust bag.

  • Avoid hairspray/aerosol products or applying perfume when wearing your fur. The formulas of most brands contain alcohol which can dry the hides. Any oils in the products may penetrate the fur and eventually become rancid.

  • Fluff as needed.

CLEANING 

  • If you get caught in light rain or snow, simply shake out the fur and remove as much water as possible. Hang it to dry in a well-ventilated room. Do not use a hair dryer, clothes dryer, or any direct heat on the fur. After it is dry, shake again to fluff the fur. Do not comb or brush, simply smooth the fur with your hand.

  • A natural fur should be cleaned every year by a professional fur cleaner, not a dry cleaner. Animal fur gathers dust, oils, and odors. Professional cleaning will add luster and shine to the fur and keep it from becoming matted.

OFF-SEASON STORAGE 

  • The optimum storage temperature for natural fur is 45 degrees F and 50 percent humidity. In fur storage vaults, the room is dark which prevents bleaching and fading of the colour. Moths and other insects cannot survive at that temperature.

  • If you decide not to use a professional storage facility keep the fur in the coolest closet possible and always in the dark.

GARMENT

  • Garments may have a raw edge effect and from time to time require trimming or grooming of loose/unraveled threads.

  • We recommend for all garments Hand Wash/Air Dry and Light Iron where it may apply.

  • Professional Dry Clean

KRYSTAL

  • Due to the delicate nature of Krystals & Stones a mindful presence and proper care should be taken when wearing jewelry or when using Krystals for energy work.

  • Smoke of sage, incense, palo santo, or smudge sticks clears out energies.

  • Water rinse purifies and cleanses your crystals both physically and metaphysically. You can run your crystals under water, soak them in a stone bath, or in a mesh bag place in a running stream or ocean waves. 

  • Sun & Moon Bath will recharge your Krystals.

  • Salt Bed or Clay Bath for clearing energy.

  • Plant Rejuvenation.

  • Please familiarize yourself with the Stone’s properties as each is unique and will require individual care.

  • To maximize the life of your bag, accessories and personal effects dust periodically with a dry cloth to remove residual particulates and prevent dirt from building up. Never use harsh cleaners or solvents as they could abrade the topcoat, or the finish of the leather. Use only material specific cleaners like conditioners or waxes and always test on a small area before use. We highly recommend using something with all natural ingredients.

  • Keep products out of direct sunlight for long periods of time, and store your accessory in a proper dust bag when not in use.
